Blair awarded Liberty Medal
Yesterday, in front of a crowd of over 1200, former Prime Minster accepted the 2010 Liberty Medal from former President Bill Clinton on the great lawn of the National Constitution Center.
The hour-long event was broadcast on 6ABC and capped off a full day of festivities that included a imitate one-on-one conversation between the two former world leaders focused around Blair’s new book “A Journey: My Political Life.”
At the ceremony, Blair outlined what he called the “Seven rules of liberty” which included the importance of laws, optimism and putting aside religious dogma.
When describing what motivates his post-political life he remarked, “To be free, is to be responsible for the freedom of others.”
