In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, four scholars recently met at the National Constitution Center to discuss the turning point of the Civil War.
Ted Widmer, Sean Wilentz, Judith Giesberg, and Adam Goodheart of the popular New York Times “Disunion” blog talked about the epic battle in front of a sold-out audience.
The authors appeared in conjunction with the release of their new book, and these insightful historians provided social and political context for understanding the pivotal Gettysburg battle and the turmoil in America circa 1863.
Since its debut on November 6, 2010, “Disunion” has published hundreds of original articles and won multiple awards, including “Best History Website” from the New Media Institute and the History News Network.
